Sergio Ramos has sent Luke Shaw a get well soon message after the England defender was taken off on a stretcher during their UEFA Nations League defeat to Spain.Manchester United star Shaw suffered a sickening head injury during a clash with rival full-back Dani Carvajal at Wembley on Saturday night.
The 23-year-old collided with the Real Madrid defender’s arm shortly after winning a header from a long ball.
Shaw full-back lay prone on the turf for around five minutes, after the incident in the 53rd minute, while a number of medical staff tended to him.
He received oxygen and was carried off on a stretcher after 53 minutes and replaced by Danny Rose.
England confirmed he was being assessed by their doctor, undergoing an X-ray and would stay with the medical team overnight. They also said he is “awake and alert”.
