Mace theft: Ndume in secret session with probe panel

Senator Ali Ndume

Senator Ali Ndume (APC, Borno) has appeared before the National Assembly panel probing the invasion of the Senate.

Our correspondent reports that the session is holding behind closed doors.

Senator Ovie Omo-Agege who also appeared before the panel refused to speak on the matter, saying he has gone to Court.

The joint committee of Senate and House co-chaired by Senator Bala Ibn Na-Allah (APC, Kebbi) and Rep Betty Apiafi (PDP, Rivers) had last week summoned Omo-Agege and Senator Ndume.

Suspected thugs numbering five had on April 18, this year invaded the Senate and  carted away with the Mace, the symbol of authority of the Senate.
