Manchester City have reportedly ready to offer Andres Iniesta a player-coach role at the Etihad Stadium as a replacement to Mikel Arteta.
The 34-year-old is ending his 22-year stint with the La Liga Champions and Spain international has been heavily linked with a move to either China or Japan.
According to Yahoo Sport, Pep Guardiola is interested in reuniting with Iniesta by offering him a player-coach role at Manchester City if he loses Arteta to Arsenal after former Gunners midfielder tipped to replace Arsene Wenger at Emirate Stadium and Iniesta is seemingly regarded as the ideal replacement.
The report suggests that Iniesta currently favours the co-role in England's top flight over a switch to Asia.
Iniesta is on the of the most decorated players in football history having won World Cup and European Championships, he has also lifted eight La Liga titles, four Champions Leagues, six Copa del Rey, three FIFA Club World Cup, three UEFA Super Cup and seven Supercopa de Espana.
