After the celebration of the of awards and dinner night on 29th January, 2021 at A-Z Diamond Event Center, ilorin, Kwara State. The executives of National Association Of Civil Engineering Students' (NACES) led by Sen. Salami Babatunde Dauda A. K. A. D'light presented an award and certificates to all the executives, teaching and non teaching staffs of civil engineering department. It was one of the very best moment and the first of its kind as everybody where surprise about the presentation after so many difficulties faced by the association due to COVID 19 and other obstacles. It is never untrue that the so called president has done a great job by making sure no student was recorded for violence, or any other academic misconduct in the school and off campus. It shows that the whole students love his mode of leadership and governance.
He also proposed a 12days AutoCAD program where civil engineering student will be taught on the use of design softwares such as AutoCAD, Orion, Prota -Structure, Bill of quantity (B. O. Q) , Bill of engineering measurement and evaluation (B. E. M. E) and Structural detailing. He also mentioned that the reason for bringing up the program is to minimize the number of unemployment among civil engineering graduate in the country. He said the rate of unemployment in the country is getting increasing every year and he doesn't need to blame the governuat all time, reason is that if the students can do one or two things by themselves, no construction company will reject them, the companies also need someone they can benefit from not the one that will depend on them for knowledge.
Mr President also took to his social media to appreciate the effort of his colleagues for giving him the opportunity to achieve his stance.
I can't but say a very big thanks to all the NACES executives for their support and time spent to achieve all this.
