The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced a new date for the Osun state gubernatorial election rerun. The electoral body said the rerun election will be conducted on Thursday, September 27. The election will be between the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC). Senator Ademola Adeleke of the PDP will squre up against Gboyega Oyetola of the APC to determine who will succeed Governor Rauf Aregbesola. Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission has declared the result of the Osun gubernatorial election inconclusive. The returning officer of the election, Adeola Fuwape in an address on Sunday, September 23 said based on the outcome of the result which ended with a slim margin between the two leading parties, the Peoples |Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress, the election was inconclusive.
