Wine landed in Entebbe airport in Uganda two hours after he left Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi.

Amid tight security in Kampala City, the musician turned politician was arrested and taken to a unidentified location by Uganda police.

Yoweri Museveni's government had on Wednesday, September 19, announced it would arrest members of the public save for the immediate relatives, who would dare turn out to receive the Kyadondo East MP at the airport.

In a new turn of events and despite the assurance, the police arrested the legislator's elder brother Eddie Yawe while on his way to the airport.

Pressure from the international community has been mounting on Museveni's administration for violating Wine's rights, but the government has remained defiant.

The Ugandan government also banned media houses from airing live coverage of the homecoming, though a spot check by TUKO.co.ke, showed NTV Uganda was covering it.
