- Manchester United joins the race to re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid
- The Red Devils are putting together a £250m bid if Juventus fail to sign him
- The Portuguese star has reportedly been offered a £500,000-per-week salary
Manchester United are are putting together a £250m plan to re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo if Juventus withdraws from the deal, SunSport reports.
The Serie A champions have made an £88m bid and Ronaldo and Real Madrid are both thought to be open to the possible move.
Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho has a poor relationship with Ronaldo, which is being considered by United chief executive Ed Woodward.
Los Blancos talisman's £50m-a-year-before-tax wages are not seen as a problem by the Old Trafford hierarchy given the commercial revenue in shirt sales and more sponsorship deals.
Agent Jorge Mendes has hinted the 33-year-old could be on his way after he was quoted in the Portuguese press as saying goodbyes are on the cards.
Mendes said Ronaldo would be "eternally grateful" to Real if he ends up leaving the European champions after nine years at the Bernabeu.
He also stressed Ronaldo would be thankful to "the club, the president, the directors, the medical staff, all the workers without exception and all the Madrid fans around the world."
Mendes added: "If that happens, it will be just a new phase and a new challenge in his brilliant career."
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had earlier reported Cristiano Ronaldo has agreed a £500,000-per-week salary from Juventus.
The Portuguese star will reportedly leave Real Madrid for an £88m fee to the play in the Serie A club.
