Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly keen on signing Manchester United forward Anthony Martial, but the Red Devils will not let go of their talented star easily.
According to the Telegraph's Luke Edwards, Spurs have been chasing the Frenchman for some time, and the player himself is interested in a move to north London.
Martial was used rather sparingly last season by Jose Mourinho, and talk of a breakdown in the relationship between player and manager led to speculation the 22-year-old would look to leave Old Trafford.
The former AS Monaco man, who was left out of France's World Cup-winning squad this summer, has just one year left on his current United deal, though the club has the option to extend that for another 12 months.
It is thought Mourinho and Co. may look to do just that in order to give Martial a final chance to re-establish himself. The Guardian's Jamie Jackson suggests the player is in line to start both Sunday's preseason clash with San Jose Earthquakes and the Premier League opener against Leicester City on Aug. 10.
However, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino apparently believes he is the right man to revitalise the prodigy's talents, although it seems he will have to convince his boss Daniel Levy to break the bank to get the young star on board, as Edwards' report implies a bid of more than £60 million could tempt United.
Martial has scored 36 goals in 136 games for United since joining for an initial £36 million in 2015.
