Detectives from the DCI in Nairobi have arrested Mr. Douglas Kiplimo Too and Ms.Linda Najoli Idali, both employees of safaricom in connection with Sim Swapping Fraud. The duo were arrested in Eldoret and are wanted for the same crimes by DCI Kitale,Trans Nzoia county DCI Molo,Nakuru county and DCI Garsen in Tana River County.
The two are among several employees of Safaricom who have been conducting SIM card swapping, a crime that carries heavy punishment.

Also, three other suspects were arrested yesterday in Nairobi. A statement from the police stated:
“ARREST OF #SIMSWAP SUSPECTS via National Police Service
Police Detectives from Central Police Station have arrested Three suspects in connection with the recent spate of Sim Swapping cases targeting unsuspecting members of the public.
The trio were arrested in connection with the recent case that saw a Kiambu MCA lose 1.9Million shillings. One of the key suspects is a Safaricom Customer Care Executive who has since been dismissed. Detectives are closing in on leads that may lead to the arrest two more suspects one of them an employee with a local bank where the complainant had banked his money.
The National Police Service is appealing to members of the public to refrain from giving personal data to unknown individuals or responding to strange calls or messages asking for the same”
