Harambee Starlets began their quest for the 2018 Cecafa Women Championship on a rocky patch losing 0-1 to Uganda’s Crested Cranes in a match played at the Nyamirambo Stadium in Kigali, Rwanda.

Lilian Mutuuzo scored the lone goal that crushed Kenya’s dream of a win in this match.

The Starlets came close to bagging the crown in 2016 reaching the final where they lost to Tanzania and had hoped to atone for the misses.

With the competition held on a round-robin format, the David Ouma coached side will have to be at their best to win their other matches if they are to have any meaningful chance of bagging the title.
