Senate Deputy Chief Whip, Francis Alimikhena has denied dumping the All Progressive Congress, APC.
The Senator, representing Edo North, in a statement issued by his Personal Assistant, Benjamin Atu, maintained that the reports were false.
Alimikhena said the report making the rounds was to discredit him ahead of the forthcoming APC primary election.
The lawmaker, however, stated that he would rather resign from active politics than joining the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to fight against his brother, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, who is the APC National Chairman.
The statement read, ”we are embarrassed by a document now going round alleging that Edo state will be having all 3 Senators in the PDP soon; the report has it that Sen Francis Alimikhena is negotiating return to PDP.
“Senator Francis Alimikhena would rather resign from active politics than joining the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to fight against his personal brother, who is the APC National Chairman.
“Comrade Adams Oshiomhole is Edo North leader and it behoves on all of us to pray for him, support him and join him to achieve the national task given to him rather than creating tension for him and avenue to create division in the Edo North APC.”
