The Plateau State House of Assembly has impeached its speaker.
Peter Azi was removed from office on Wednesday.
There had been unsuccessful attempts in the past to oust him.
The Chief whip of the House, Joshua Madaki, was elected the new speaker.
Mr Madaki represents Jos East state constituency.
