Manchester City Get UEFA Ban

The Times reports Manchester City should be banned from the Champions League for the 2020-21 season for allegedly making false declarations of sponsorship income, Uefa investigators have recommended.

The matter was passed to the governing body's adjudicatory chamber yesterday for sentencing.

The Premier League champions reacted angrily to being formally charged with fraudulently attempting to circumvent financial fair play (FFP) regulations, accusing Uefa of failing to implement due process and rushing to charge them without properly considering more than 100 pages of documents that they have provided in their defence.

City's fate will be determined by the adjudicatory chamber of Uefa's club financial control body (CFCB) after a two-month inquiry by their investigators, who have provided guidance on what they believe is the appropriate disciplinary measure.
