There was something unusual the moment President Uhuru Kenyatta stepped out his official car at the Kenya Music Festival Winners' State Concert in Nyeri on Friday, August 17.
Unlike any other day the Head of State ordinarily has a male aide-de-camp (ADC) stiffly standing behind him, this time Kenyans noticed the president had unseen female member of his security detail, Rachael Nduta.

Clad in her blue outfit complete with a military hat benefiting her status of assistant ADC, Nduta watched over everyone including the presidential delegation which had accompanied Uhuru.
And when it was time for her boss to deliver his keynote speech, Nduta rose on her feet, saluted and closely followed him to the podium.
TUKO.co.ke established the woman is drawn from the Kenya Air Force and will be working alongside Lieutenant Colonel Timothy Lekolool.
Nduta is not the only one scaling military ladder.
On Friday, July 13, Uhuru who is also the commander-in-chief promoted Fatuma Ahmed to become Kenya's first Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) Major General.
Ahmed is also the country's first woman Army Brigadier in first changes under Chief of Defence Forces Samson Mwathethe.
