ODM party distances itself from ex-Raila aide wanted for poll violence in Zimbabwe

- ODM party distanced itself from Jakakimba regarding the Zimbabwe poll

- Zimbabwe authorities on Monday, August 6 called alerted the public to inform them of Jakakimba's wherebouts

- The youthful politician was wanted for allegedly having links to the Harare violence that claimed six lives

- ODM, through a statement, denied sending Jakikamba on a 'mission'

The Orange Democratic Party has distanced itself from youthful Zimbabwean politician Silas Jakakimba’s who is on the Zimbawean authorities' radar for violence in Harare

Through a statement seen by TUKO.co.ke, ODM made it clear they did not send Jakakimba to Zimbabwe for any misguided mission.

ODM Executive Director Oduor Ongwen has clarified that the party did not sent Mr. Silas Jakimba to Harare on any mission in the just concluded General Election which saw the incumbent Emerson Mnangagwa declared winner in the hotly contested Presidential election," the statement read.

Jakakimba was on the spot on Saturday, August 4 when over the violence in Zimbabwe since Wednesday that has seen the death of at least six people.

Reports claimed that Jakakimba had a hand in the unrest from Zimbabwe's opposition supporters who were aggrieved about their candidate Nelson Chamisa of the MDC Alliance losing out to Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa of the Zanu Party.
