Challenges that Kenyan athletes normally undergo might soon come to an end after the Government pledged to address their problems and offer them more support.
Deputy President William Ruto, made the pledge to athletes on behalf of the Government while attending the final send off of 400 metres ex-World Champion Nicholas Bett on Thursday, August 16.

“Our government will focus on challenges affecting athletes like fields where they normally conduct their exercise. We will take care of this so that they can also enjoy and feel appreciated" the Deputy President said.
Ruto eulogised Bett saying the country had lost an icon who had represented Kenya on various field events across the globe and was always eager to proudly wave the Kenyan flag high.

Rashid said the country had lost a hero and that Kenya would continue celebrate his sterling achievements even after his demise.

The CS further lauded efforts of Kenyan athletes to market the country world over and promised that under his tenure he would ensure they were provided with conducive environments to train with ease.

As TUKO.co.ke formerly reported, Bett met his tragic demise after his vehicle hit a bump and veered off Sochoi-Lessos road, rolling several times.
The 400m legend lost his life on Wednesday, August 8, in Nandi county while travelling from Nairobi to his home.
