Stonebwoy sends heartfelt appeal to Akufo-Addo to rescue Ghanaians in Libya

Award-winning danchall artiste, Livingstone Etse Satekla, known in the showbiz industry as Stonebwoy has also added his voice to the ongoing atrocities of slave trade in Libya.

The “Come from far” hit maker took to his social media handles and sent an appeal to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to make plans of getting Ghanaians in Libya out of the country.

He posted an animated picture of Former Libyan leader, Muammar Gaddafi and former United States of America leader, Barrack Obama. He went on to caption the post, “How long Shall They Kill Our Prophet’s... ..Bring Back Our Youths From Libya!”.

Not long ago, reports were rife that some Libyans were selling migrants from other African countries into slavery. A particular report which was aired on CNN showed an auctioneer selling of some unidentified Africans for $400 apiece.

The video sparked worldwide outrage and many people have since hit the streets to protest this inhuman action which violates the fundamental human rights of others.

The migrants who are in Libya are believed to hail from Nigeria, Cameroon Ivory Coast, Senegal and Ghana.

Yesterday, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo described the slave trade in Libya as “gross” and “scandalous”.

The Government of Ghana however has revealed that there are no Ghanaians among the black Africans how are being sold off into slavery. Another communication coming from the state has indicated that some 168 Ghanaian migrants in Libya are expected to be rescued from the North African Nation.

Stonebwoy adds his voice to a number of public figures and entertainers who have urged authorities to do something about the ongoing slave trade in Libya. Not too long ago, Shatta Wale also put in a word to register his displeasure over happenings in Libya.

Many celebrities around the globe including Chris Brown, Cardi B and Nigeria’s Georgina Onuoha have all made their voices heard over the matter.
