State House acting spokesperson Kanze Dena on Monday issued a press conference addressing reports of a looming cabinet reshuffle.

In a highly anticipated presser, Ms Dena sought to clarify that President Uhuru Kenyatta was not planning to make changes in his cabinet as alleged in recent media reports.

“That is news to me; I am unaware of any plans by the President to reshuffle the Cabinet. If you could give me more information regarding the speculations, I would appreciate. My office has no information about those plans,” she stated.

She further echoed Deputy President William Ruto remarks that there was no friction between the executive duo.

"I would urge you not to plant seeds that are unnecessary. Whenever he tours different parts of the country, he goes to those places on development mission, and not politics. There is no need for the President to go there with an entire Cabinet or a part of it.

"The people who matter in that case, are the relevant local leaders, whose constituents are going to benefit from the projects, and the hired contractors who have to account for the work they’ve been mandated to do,” she insisted.

The State House communication boss further announced that President Kenyatta was set to visit United States President Donald Trump at the White House on August 27,.

"Kenya is a vital partner of the United States and President Trump looks forward to discussing ways to broaden the strategic partnership based on our shared democratic values and mutual interests.

"The meeting between the two leaders will reaffirm the longstanding relationship between the United States and Kenya as a cornerstone of peace and stability in Africa and the broader Indo-Pacific region.

"President Trump and President Kenyatta will explore ways to bolster trade and investment between the two countries while strengthening security cooperation," a statement from State House read in part.
