Manchester United vs Tottenham: Is this how the Red Devils will line up?

Can Jose Mourinho’s men bounce back against Spurs?

Manchester United are looking to recover from last week’s humiliation at Brighton with a win against Tottenham.

The Premier League clash is set to take place at Old Trafford on Monday night, with kick-off set for 8pm.

Mourinho gave out tactical advice to no avail against Brighton

Spurs have won their two opening fixtures with a 2-1 triumph at Newcastle followed by a 3-1 win against Fulham.

Manchester United started with a 2-1 victory over Leicester, before crashing to a 3-2 loss at Brighton.

Jose Mourinho’s men put in a hapless performance at the Amex Stadium with defensive frailties exposed for all to see.

Here is how we expect ‘The Special One’ to set out his team against Tottenham:

Following his poor display last Sunday, Eric Bailly is likely to be replaced by Chris Smalling who could either start alongside Phil Jones or Victor Lindelof in central defence.

Multiple missing figures are also in contention to return for Man United and so are expected to start if fit.

At right-back, Antonio Valencia should be back in the XI after Ashley Young filled in against Brighton.

Diego Dalot could also be available after training with the side for the first time this week.

In midfield, Nemanja Matic is set to make his first appearance of the season and will likely take Andreas Pereira’s place in the side.

Alexis Sanchez is also back in training and will likely start again after missing the Brighton match through injury.
