PSG star Marco Verratti rejects Barcelona

- PSG star Marco Verratti has shunned speculations link him to a move to Barcelona

- Verratti denied signing any pre-deal with the Spanish giants

- The Italian was widely linked to the Catalan side last summer

PSG star Marco Verratti has insisted that he will be staying put at the Paris club amidst growing speculations linking him to Spanish giants Barcelona.

The Italian was widely linked to the Catalan side last summer, a move that did not see the light of the day, despite Neymar heading the opposite direction.

Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, about reaching an allege contract agreement with Barcelona Verratti said: "I've read that Raiola has offered me to Barcelona – it's false.

"I talked to my managers, they know what I think, things are clear. I have decided to stay at PSG."

When asked about his side elimination from the Champions League, he added: "Real Madrid is a tough opponent, but we were convinced we could progress,"

"PSG is not so far behind Real.

"Some details make the difference. We did a lot in the first leg, but still two goals [was the difference] – we also lacked Neymar, which is like taking Messi away from Barcelona,"

The Blues boss Antonio Conte is looking to bolster his squad after winning the 2016/17 English Premier League title.

Conte believes he needs midfielder and after being snubbed by AS Roma's Radja Nainngolan, he is looking at Verratti.
