Chelsea's Courtois withdraws from Belgium squad

Chelsea shot-stopper Thibaut Courtois has pulled out of the Belgium squad after picking up a hamstring injury whilst on international duty.

"Thibaut Courtois has not recovered from his hamstring injury and left the group," a statement from the Red Devils' official Twitter accountannounced on Sunday. "Roberto Martinez will decide later on who will replace him in goal versus Saudi Arabia. Get well soon, Thibaut."

After missing out on the FA Cup quarter-final clash with Leicester City with what Chelsea manager Antonio Conte called a "muscular problem," Courtois' involvement in an April Fool's Day match with London rival Tottenham is now in doubt.

With the Blues' top-four chances fading, victory over Spurs would see Chelsea climb within two points of the north London lot and a coveted spot in next season's Champions League.

Courtois, 25, has started all but one of Chelsea's 30 league affairs this season, with deputy and designated cup 'keeper Willy Caballero making a lone league appearance in a 4-0 victory over Brighton in January.
