Manchester United midfielder Tosin Kehindehas chosen to represent the Super Eagles of Nigeria over England.
19-year-old Tosin was given birth to in Lagos but is eligible to play for England.
Tosin has turned out for Manchester United at several age-grade levels and is currently with the U-23 side.
He has been called up by Jose Mourinho to the first team set up but is yet to make an appearance for the senior side.
According to several reports after a meeting with Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr, and Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) vice presidents Shehu Dikko and Seyi Akinwunmithe youngster has decided to pledge his allegiance to Nigeria.
The delegation met with Tosin and his representatives ahead of the Super Eagles friendly against Serbia on Tuesday, March 27.
In an interview with Soccer Assembly, Tosin stated that he was delighted with the support he gets from football fans back home, and also revealed that he has been close to making an appearance for Mourinho’s side.
"It feels good to have that kind of support back home," he said. "I’ve come close on occasion. All I need to do is continue to work hard,” Tosin said.
The young midfielder would be ineligible to play for Nigeria if the Flying Eagles qualify for the 2019 FIFA under 20 World Cup.
He said, "Of course I’d be elated to play at the World Cup. It’s every footballers dream. Playing at any level for Nigeria would bring me pride. But I believe in myself enough to know I can bring something great to the Super Eagles first team."

Speaking on the possibilities of Super Eagles at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, Tosin stated that he hopes the Eagles can do great things in Russia.
“The Super Eagles have got a great chance at the World Cup”,
“We have the youngest average age at the tournament so if we play with audacity, swag & confidence, anything can happen, I’m expecting great things,” He said.
Tosin can be the first Nigerian to turn out for the Manchester United first team after Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel turned down a move to Old Trafford for Chelsea.
