Chelsea denied Arsenal a route into the Champions League with a convincing Europa League final victory over their Premier League rivals.

Eden Hazard's brace helped Maurizio Sarri claim his first major trophy as Chelsea crushed Arsenal 4-1 in the Europa League final in Baku on Wednesday.

In perhaps his final appearance before a mooted move to Real Madrid, star man Hazard struck two second half goals to confirm Chelsea's second triumph in six seasons in this competition.

Olivier Giroud sparked the landslide against his former employers in the 49th minute before Pedro put a second past retiring Gunners goalkeeper Petr Cech.

OBJ Escaped Plane Crash In Lagos

Disaster was averted at Murtala Mohammed International Airport on Wednesday, May 29, as 393 passengers, including former President Olusegun Obasanjo, escaped air crash, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

Other prominent Nigerians in the Ethiopian airline passenger aircraft, Boeing 777-300, included the Director General of Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) Ambassador Ayoola Olukanni.

Also in the plane was Prof Samson Tunde Adebayo, the Director of Ports Inspection, National Agency For Food And Drug Administration And Control (NAFDAC) as well as scores of Nigerians and other nationals.

The passenger aircraft, ET-901, had departed the Bole International Airport, Addis Ababa, at about 9:10 a.m., Ethiopian time; 7 a.m Nigerian time.

A NAN correspondent, who was among the passengers, recalled that the almost 5-hour flight from the Ethiopian capital to Lagos had been smooth until the pilot attempted to land at the Murtala Mohammed International airport.

Rather than landing on the first touch line of the runway, the pilot over short it, due to rain and heavy wind, landing on the third touchline.

NAN reports that, on realising this, the pilot quickly manouvered the plane back air, flying out of the Lagos airport.

After hovering around between Lagos and areas suspected to be in Ogun, causing panic in passengers and crew members, the plane landed in Lagos airport, some 20 minutes after the initial false landing.

The atmosphere in the air bus upon landing was replica of what is obtainable in some Nigerian worship centers, as many passengers broke out into worship songs and clapping, while some fell to their knees in prayer.

The duty manager and Chief Customer Service (Nigeria) of the airline, Mr Otori Jimoh Otan, told NAN that if the pilot had continued taxing down after landing on the third touch line, he would have overshot the runway.

“But this is an experienced pilot. He realised this immediately.

“Fortunately, the distance between when he realised the situation still permitted him to take off and renegotiate landing,” Otori said.

He added that the incident was not out of place, while confirming that the wind obscured the pilot’s vision.

Otori also disclosed that most of the aircrafts that flew out of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport had to fly against the mid day heavy wind.

“These things happen. That is where the sophistication of the aircraft and experience of the cabin crew members come in.

“The aircraft is one of the best you can have around and we are fortunate to have pilots who know their onions ” he said.

Recall that Obasanjo and Olukanni had both attended a Stakeholders Dialogue on Continental Trade and Strengthening Implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) which ended on Tuesday in Addis Ababa.

Messi Couldn't Make The First XI European Squad

Lionel Messi recently won the European Golden Shoe after scoring 36 La Liga goals in 38 games, but couldn’t make it into the best XI from Europe’s top 5 leagues ahead of arch rival Cristiano Ronaldo.

Lionel Messi has enjoyed a stellar season with Barcelona, scoring a whooping 51 goals and assisting 22 more in just 50 appearances, with 36 goals and 15 assists coming in 34 La Liga games as the club cantered to their second successive League title.

However, despite those ridiculous numbers and having accrued a rating of 8.4 on the site, Lionel Messi missed out on making the best XI in Europe’s top 5 leagues on WhoScored’s site.

Nicolas Pepe from Lille and Cristiano Ronaldo from Juventus instead made the cut, in the positions Lionel Messi was likely to feature in.

Ronaldo picked up the Best Player award in Serie A for his hand in guiding Juventus to their eight straight Scudetto, but only managed 21 goals and 11 assists in 31 league appearances.

Nicolas Pepe, on the other hand, has engendered the interest of many top European clubs after a breakout season for Lille, but also only managed 22 goals and 11 assists in 38 games.

Also, Lionel Messi’s seasonal rating of 8.4 on WhoScored is by far the highest among all the players included in the XI, making his omission all the more ridicuous.

Messi React to Antoine Griezmann Signing

Lionel Messi spoke prior to the Copa del Rey final and was asked about Antoine Griezmann joining Barcelona.
Lionel Messi rarely speaks in pregame press conferences. But when he speaks, his words carry weight. Such was the case this time when the Argentine was asked about Antoine Griezmann potentially signing for the Catalan side.

According to Sport, when asked about Griezmann, Messi responded, “We will not give our opinion.”

La reacción de Messi cuando le han preguntado por Griezmann pic.twitter.com/P4cAV7D8fd #fcblive

With that simple sentence, Messi all but put an end to that speculation. The degree of his influence at Barcelona is often overstated by many but this appears to be an occasion where his opinion, or lack thereof, says all anyone needs to know about the Frenchman arriving at Barcelona.

Messi’s refusal to give his opinion gives credence to reports that the Barcelona locker room vetoed the arrival of Griezmann and that he is not well-liked given what happened last summer when they all thought he was joining them. We all know he released a documentary to express that he was staying at Atletico Madrid.

The Argentine’s comments were also a complete 180 of what he and his teammates were saying amidst these same rumors last season. Diario Sport even wrote an article of what was said at that time.

On that occasion, Messi said, “I don’t know if signing him is a priority or not but I am in agreement that to win the Champions League, as we all desire, to win it again we need the best players. Griezmann is one of them and if the club bring him in, great.”

Luis Suarez added, “A player of his quality is always welcome. He’s not coming to take anyone’s place, but with the ambition to win big things.”

Compare what Messi said then to what he said now and it tells someone all they need to know about how Griezmann may be perceived now. It is not very welcoming. It may also be a reason as to why they all still seem to back Philippe Coutinho.

As opposed to Griezmann, Coutinho made no secret that he wanted to play at Barcelona and did all he could to force a move. Despite his struggles, that he was adamant about wanting to join Barcelona and forcing a move, shows the likes of Messi and Suarez his commitment and that he did not tease or relent on his desire for a move.

His comments also come after a supposed meeting between Messi and Barcelona president, Josep Maria Bartomeu. One has to assumed that besides discussing about their goals for next season, potential signings must have come up with Bartomeu wanting to know Messi’s opinion on Griezmann.

Okorocha Vows To Become Nigeria President

“Mark it, I will be president of Nigeria. I said this on this altar so that the kingdom of God will rise against those fighting to stop me. “Also, those who think they will put me in prison will go to prison before me.

Rochas Okorocha, the governor of Imo State, has vowed that he will become the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria come what may.
Okorocha made his conviction public on Sunday during his valedictory thanksgiving service held at the Government House Chapel in Owerri.
He said  that his current political travails, particularly the seizure of his Certificate of Return as the Imo West senator-elect, were only strengthening him for the  exalted  presidential seat in Aso Rock.
The outgoing governor said the wishes of his political adversaries concerning him would not come to pass, saying “those who want me to go to prison will go to prison before me.”

According to him, the elite hated him because he decided to approach the affairs of the state differently.

Describing himself as “the most criticised politician” in the country, Okorocha said that all the ploy to stop him from going to the Senate will fail.

Okorocha said, “I tell you, I am the most criticised person in Nigeria today. I don’t know why the entire elite hate me with cruelty.

“My Senate ambition is still a battle. More than 30 people have joined the suit to fight me. All these, I will overcome.

“They are only preparing me for the glory ahead.”

“Mark it, I will be president of Nigeria. I said this on this altar so that the kingdom of God will rise against those fighting to stop me.

“Also, those who think they will put me in prison will go to prison before me.

“They don’t want me to be at the National Assembly, but I will be there. I know I am the last man standing, but I will not give up.”

He said that 95 percent of Imo indigenes did not understand him and his style of governance.

“Only a few of them later realised that I meant well for the state. I governed the state with passion. I broke protocols and bent the laws, but I never broke laws.

“When I took over the office eight years ago, I wasn’t unmindful that a lot of people will misunderstand me and try to distract me.

“But today, I have left the state better than I met it. I am the architect of the new Imo. I am a satisfied governor.”

Sergio Ramos leaving Real Madrid

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has revealed heartbreaking information to the club after a terrible season that led to the sacking of Julen Lopetegui and Santiago Solare and brought back Zinedine Zidane, eight months after his resignation.

Reports coming out of Spain is that Sergio Ramos is considering leaving Real Madrid with offers from the Chinese Super League, Italian Serie A champions Juventus, Manchester United and Liverpool.

The relationship between the defender and Madrid president Florentino Pérez has broken down completely since a huge row after the defeat to Ajax. Sergio Ramos is considering leaving Real Madrid given his current situation at the club, which has been wearing him down, as reported on Spanish TV programme El Chiringuito.

The main problem is a direct conflict between club captain Ramos and Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez. The two had a huge row in the dressing room after the Champions League defeat to Ajax at the Bernabéu which saw Real Madrid eliminated from the tournament they had won in the three previous seasons.

Ramos didn’t play that night as he was suspended, but when Pérez went down to the dressing room to recriminate with the players over their attitude in the game, the 33-year old defender came out in defence of his fellow team-mates, to which Pérez accused him of taking too many days off.

Ramos’ response: “I’ve given everything, I’ve sweated blood and tears for this badge and for you, but if you want to kick me out, you can pay me up and I’ll go”.

The Real Madrid players believed that the situation would calm down over time, but the relationship between Ramos and Pérez has completely broken down and they barely speak to each other.

Ramos is hurt over critical messages about him coming from within the club, including an insinuation that he took too long to recover from a calf injury, that he failed to help his team-mates enough during the end of the league and that he was thinking far too much about his wedding on 15 June.

All of which has led to the player seriously thinking about his future, which he now feels may be away from Real Madrid. Ramos still has two years left on his Real Madrid contract, which finishes in 2021.

He earns 12.5 million euros net a year, and his buy-out clause is an eye-watering 800 million euros. The player’s inner circle are adamant that Ramos has no issue over money and would not be leaving to try and boost his salary – the problem is entirely about respect, however, given the current market situation the first offers to take him away from Real Madrid have already reached his representatives.

According to this newspaper’s sources, Manchester United (who were keen on the defender before his last contract renewal in 2015) and Liverpool (Klopp would line him up alongside Van Dijk in the best central defence pairing in the world) have both been in touch with Ramos’ representatives.

There has also been a huge offer for him from China, and Juventus too have shown an interest. In fact, the Italian club are the keenest to make a major effort for the player, given that Cristiano Ronaldo has directly asked the Agnelli family to do what they can to sign Ramos.

It should not be forgotten that Cristiano Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos won four Champions Leagues in five years. Right now, Ramos is enjoying a mini-break before joining up with the Spain squad ahead of the games against the Faroe Islands and Sweden, despite suffering from a calf injury since 12 April. Since then he hasn’t played for Real Madrid, but Spain are still counting on him.

7 World Talented Players To Watch For In The Ongoing U20World Cup

The FIFA U-20 World Cup is one of the most exciting tournaments to watch especially because a lot of relatively unknown talents would be on display. The competition was the stage that announced stars like Paul Pogba, Lionel Messi, Mikel Obi, Sergio Aguero, and Milinkovic-Savic. Here are 7 talents to watch out for in the 2019 edition hosted by Poland.

1. Diogo Dalot, Portugal

Diogo Dalot is a ‘modern’ full-back who plays as a full-back and occasionally as a winger for English club Manchester United. The defender was born in Braga, Portugal and joined Porto youth team. Dalot first appeared with the first team in competitive games on 13 October 2017, starting in a 6–0 away win over Lusitano G.C. for the season’s Taça de Portugal.

He first played in the Primeira Liga in February 2018, coming on as a 75th-minute substitute in a 5–0 home routing of Rio Ave FC. He was particularly impressive in a UEFA Champions League game against Liverpool and attracted interest from the top clubs on the continent. Dalot signed for Premier League club Manchester United on 6 June 2018 on a five-year contract for a fee of £19 million.

Dalot helped Manchester United secure an important victory against PSG in the Champions League and he blossomed under the management of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Dalot helped Portugal win the 2016 UEFA European Under-17 Championship, scoring twice in five games in Azerbaijan including once in the final against Spain.

He heads into this competition full of confidence and would definitely be one of the most experienced players on the Portugal squad. After representing the country at the U-17 European Championship, he helped the under-19 team reach the quarter-finals of the same competition. This would be his second U-20 World Cup as he was represented the nation at the 2017 edition, starting in all the matches in an eventual quarter-final exit.

2. William Saliba, France

Saliba is a talented defender for Ligue 1 club Saint-Étienne. He began playing football at the tender age of six and was coached by Kylian Mbappe’s father. The teenager signed for St-Etienne in 2016 and made his debut for the first team at the age of 17. Like Mbappe, he is of Cameroonian descent and he is one of the most impressive talents to watch out for at the U-20 World Cup.

3. Yacine Adli, France

He is perhaps the most exciting prospect to watch at the U-20 World Cup. The highly rated attacking midfielder is of Algerian descent and he made his debut in the French Ligue 1 with PSG in 2018. On the last day of the 2018–19 winter transfer window, Adli joined league rivals FC Girondins de Bordeaux on a 4½-year contract.

The transfer reportedly involved a fee of €5.5 million and a 40% sell-on clause. He has represented France U17s at the 2017 UEFA European Under-17 Championship and the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup.

4. Kingsley Micheal, Nigeria

The highly rated midfielder burst into limelight after his performances for the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria in 2015. He joined Italian club Bologna In 2017 and was assigned to their Under-19 team. At the end of the 2017–18 Serie A season he made some bench appearances for Bologna’s senior squad, but did not see any time on the field. This prompted his loan move to Peruggia.

Kingsley represented Nigeria national under-17 football team at the 2015 African U-17 Championship where Nigeria finished 4th. He was part of the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup winning team with the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria. Michael scored a goal in the 3–0 quarterfinal victory over Brazil, but did not appear in the semifinal or final.

5. Diego Lainez, Mexico

The exciting winger plays for Real Betis in the Spanish La Liga, Lainez began his career at Club America becoming one of the club’s youngest players to debut for the first team at 16 years old. Lainez scored in both legs of the Apertura semifinal series against Universidad Nacional, making him the youngest player to ever score during the playoff stage for the club.

Lainez joined La Liga club Real Betis on a five-year contract reportedly worth $14 million making him the youngest player to emigrate from the Mexican Liga MX as well as the second most expensive transfer paid for a Mexican player by a European club. He has represented Mexico at the U-17, U-20, and the U-21 levels. He received his first call-up to the senior national team by interim manager, Ricardo Ferretti, for the friendly matches against Uruguay and the United States and earned his first cap against Uruguay.

6. Gedson Fernandes, Portugal

The talented midfielder Fernandes started his career at SC Frielas in Portugal before he joined S.L. Benfica’s youth system, where he progressed to the club’s reserve team in 2017. He made his first team debut for the club in a UEFA Champions League qualifier against Fernabache.

He would be heading to Poland full of confidence after he secured the 2018/19 Portugal Primera Liga with Benfica . He has already won titles with Portugal after being part of the UEFA European Under-17 Championship winning team. He was so good at that tournament that he was voted into the 2016 UEFA European Under-17 Championship Team of the Tournament.

7. Ikouwem Utin Udo, Nigeria

The highly rated full back began his career in Nigeria with Alaska Football Academy before moving to Enyimba at the age of 16. He made his senior debut in 2017. In February 2018 he won the NFF Young Player of the Year award and signed for Israeli club Maccabi Haifa in 2009. He made his international debut for Nigeria in 2018.

Four People Found In Car Dashboard And Engine (Bonnet)

Four people, including a 15-year-old girl, have been found hidden inside vehicles attempting to leave Morocco, the Civil Guard has said.

Three vehicles were stopped at customs in Beni-Enzar in a space of just three hours, between 9am and 12pm.Inside the cars, officials found the teenage girl and two other men, believed to be 20 and 21 years old.

One of them was hidden behind the rear seats and the other two were in the dashboard. Two of the three had to be stabilised by medics after showing symptoms of asphyxia, disorientation and generalised pain in the joints due to the way in which they had been travelling.

They were discovered in Beni-Enzar and Melilla (Picture: Guardia Civil)A fourth truck was then searched in the Spanish port of Melilla, and officials found a 20-year-old man in the base of the vehicle.

He had to be helped out of the truck due to the dangerous nature of his hiding place. It was believed that the man had ‘taken advantage’ of the driver’s carelessness to get into the spot.

The Civil Guard said the drivers of the intercepted cars, all of Moroccan registration, have now been detained and will go to court.

Three of the vehicles were stopped, they are described as being all male, of Moroccan nationality, aged 19, 30 and 31.None of them have ties to the city of Melilla.

Woman gave birth to 17 babies in 29hours

There is nothing God cannot do, with Him all things are possible. Imagine a woman to carry 17 people in her belly for nine months, and still survive, only God can do it.

This woman break world record and inspire many women to believe in God in times pregnancy and delivering. The news has gone round on Facebook.

“It was incredible” explains Dr. Jack Morrow who assisted the woman through the whole operation.” The babies kept coming and coming and coming and coming… Man! I think I’m gonna have nightmares about this day for a long time! This was my last delivery!” he adds in disgust.

Catherine Bridges and her husband had been trying to have a child for many years and had decided last year to use medical assistance from a fertility clinic in Rhodes Island. The insemination process was definitely successful, as the couple got an entire litter of seventeen beautiful and identical boys.

Dahoodlight8 gather that it took about 29hours for the delivery of the babies and surprisingly the woman is still alive with all the babies.

The couple has already chosen the names for the boys with an obvious continuity of thought: James, Jacob, Jarod, Jarvis, Jason, Jeffrey, Jeremy, Jerome, Jesse, Jimmy, Joachim, Jonathan, Jonas, Joseph, Julian, Jimbo and surprisingly, Darth Porkinus.

The 31-year-old Argentine scored an amazing 36 goals in just 34 appearance to wrap up the much coveted individual award.

European Golden shoe is given to the highest goal scorer across the five major leagues namely, English Premiership, Spanish LaLiga Satander, Italian Serie A , German Bundesliga , and French Ligue 1.

Lionel Messi’s exploit was not enough to prevent the Spanish champions from being knocked out at the Semi-final stage of the last edition of the UEFA Champions league.

Laspotech Security Guard Killed His Co-Worker For Ritual

According to a report by Premium Times, a private security guard employed by the management of the Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH), Ikorodu, Cletus Wilson, on Friday, allegedly murdered one of his colleagues, John Okoro.

The management of the polytechnic and the police have confirmed the development.

Witnesses told Premium Times that Mr Wilson had attempted to escape shortly after committing the crime, but other security guards on the campus chased and caught him.

They immediately reported the matter at the police station along Ikorodu-Sagamu Road, and its personnel visited the scene where Mr Wilson was handed over to them.

According to a witness, who requested anonymity, Mr Wilson had confessed to the police that he hit Mr Okoro on his neck with a heavy metal before he later slaughtered him with cutlass.

“Very early on Friday we heard the noise on campus that another person had been killed by one of the security guards. It was after we moved near the scene of the incident that we saw how gory the whole thing is,” the witness said.

“Okoro is the guard at the Chemical Engineering Department while Wilson works at the Computer Engineering Department. After slaughtering his victim, Wilson also cut his hands. He was about to escape with the body parts before he was caught in the bush by other security men. He was handcuffed by the police and his photograph taken as he sat beside the corpse on the open field where the corpse was deposited.”

Speaking on the development, the polytechnic’s spokesperson, Olanrewaju Kuye, said both the victim and the alleged culprit are members of the outsourced security operatives engaged by the school.

He said; “The report of the murder case is true. The two of them work for Kramoo Securities, a private company, which supplied them to the school. We have since reported the incident to both the police and the security company.

“We are aware it is for ritual purpose but the police would unravel the details in their investigations.”

The divisional police officer in charge of the police station, Adekunle Omisakin, in a telephone conversation with PREMIUM TIMES, said the matter is currently being investigated by his station.

“Yes, there was a murder case on the campus this morning and the alleged culprit is in our custody,” Mr Omisakin said.

Guardiola finally ‘agrees’ €24m deal to join Juventus from Man City next season

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has finally agreed on a €24m-a-year with Juventus to become their new manager.

Guardiola has been strongly linked with a move to join the Serie A champions this summer.

The Spaniard was dismissive last Friday when asked about the Turin club following news that Massimiliano Allegri is to leave the Old Lady this summer.

“How many times do I have to say? I’m not going to go to Juventus, I’m not going to move to Italy.

“I’m satisfied here, I’m not going anywhere. Next season I will be manager of Man City. I said many times,” Guardiola told reporters ahead of their FA Cup final against Watford.

However, on Thursday, Calciomercato is now reporting that the City boss has agreed on a ‘four years contract with a fee of 24 million euros per season’ to become Juventus’ new manager next season.

The Italian newspaper claimed that the 48-year-old former Barcelona coach will sign a deal with the Turin club on June 4 and he will be officially unveiled on June 14.

Guardiola won the English League Cup, FA Cup and Premier League with Man City this season.

Reason Why Olamide Send Lyta Away

There are strong speculations that there is trouble in YBNL camp and most mind disturbing info is that the label boss Olamide has sent Lyta packing from YBNL.

The stories have been flying around for few hours now and YBNL boss, rapper Olamide has issued a statement on why he unfollowed music artiste Lyta and also allowed him to exit his record label.

Read statement below.

1. LYTA CLAIMS HE HAS SOMEONE WHO WANTS TO SIGN HIM
Olamide said Lyta told him he has someone who wants to sign him and requested he wants to leave and he gave him his blessings.

Olamide said even though he knows Lyta was lying, he still wished him well regardless and then Lyta goes about saying different Negative things about him.

2. LABEL CALENDAR/MUSIC RELEASE PLAN
Every label with 2 or more artistes has a Calendar that they follow in order to push the various artistes for equality sake and it seems Lyta was not cool with that.

According to Baddo, if one keep pushing just 1 Artiste only, how would the label and every artiste sign under it grow?

At least, Lyta was popping in 2018 with 2 singles “Time” and “Self Made” with videos and now it’s another person’s turn to get that attention and Lyta must have been pissed, hence decided to leave not remembering other artistes too waited patiently he was the one getting the whole attention last year.

3. LYTA MIGHT BE JEALOUS OF FIREBOY’s SUCCESS LATELY
This is a killer point and as a blogger, you don’t have to say everything before we pick our point.

Fireboy‘s massive success might have triggered something inside of Lyta. Lyta is talented no doubt but the boy might think the Label is not giving him the privilege to drop songs anytime he feels like, song that can actually take him places and on top of his craft.

At least, others didn’t die when Lyta was popping and going places in 2018 but it seems he doesn’t want others to get ahead of him.

Lyta’s decision to leave must have been because of this reason.

4. INSTAGRAM UNFOLLOW ISSUE
I don’t want Negative vibes around me or on my Page and I decided to unfollow and let peace reign, the YBNL boss said.

In his word, Baddo said “If you know me too well, you will know I don’t want Negative energy or bad vibes around me“.

Bad energy or pity face affects me badly and I can’t help but scrutinize my page to avoid any issue.

From our Investigation, Olamide unfollowed so many people and even changed some settings on his Instagram page – You can check to confirm.

5. ONLY FIREBOY HAS CONTRACT IN YBNL
Olamide confirmed only Fireboy has a contract with YBNL, as he’s just helping others so they can have a smooth ride in the highly competitive music industry.

I just want them to grow nothing more – Olamide confirmed before dropping off the call.

For now, here’s all the info we are able to from the YBNL boss regarding Lyta’s exit.

We will keep you guys updated as we get more updates on this issue.

FIFA List Nigeria Wonder Kid Among Players To Watch Out For In The Ongoing U20 World Cup

Nigeria and Man City youngster, Tom Dele-Bashiru (right) is among the players listed by FIFA to watch out for at the ongoing U-20 World Cup in Poland

As Nigeria’s Flying Eagles took on Qatar yesterday on Match Day 2 of the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland, midfielder, Tom Dele-Bashiru has been named by FIFA among the 10 stars the world should watch out for. The U-20 tournament has always been a breeding ground of stars having unveiled players like Diego Maradona, Lionel Messi, Sergio Aguero among others.

If fielded, Dele-Bashiru will be having possibly his first competitive outing with the Flying Eagles having being plying his trade abroad. He was born in Manchester and represented England’s U-16s but will be pulling the strings for the Flying Eagles at Poland 2019.

He earned his first appearance for Manchester City during a league cup match against Leicester City in 2017.Another player in the expected emerging stars is President George Weah’s son, Timothy, who is featuring for the US as an attacker.

Loaned to Celtic by Paris Saint-Germain at the beginning of the year, the 19-year-old became a super-sub for the Scottish Premiership winners, scoring three times and adding an assist in 11 league appearances. His father won the 1995 FIFA World Player of the Year.

Other players named by FIFA as potential world stars include Poland’s goalkeeper, Radoslaw Majecki. He was however at the receiving end in one of Thursday’s opening matches, conceding two goals in the 0-2 loss to Colombia. He reportedly won the starting job with Polish giants Legia Warsaw in October 2018 and didn’t look back. The 19-year-old kept seven clean sheets and allowed only 12 goals in 14 league appearances. He is anchoring the hosts at Poland 2019.

Next is Argentina’s defender, Nehuen Perez. He was paramount in central defence as Argentina’s captain during their second-place finish at the South American U-20 Championship. He caught the eye of Atletico Madrid, who signed the 18-year-old in February 2019.

Also profiled is French defender, Dan-Axel Zagadou.  He will turn 20 years old during Poland 2019, and the fearless centre-back already cuts an imposing figure at 6ft 5ins (1.96m). Acquired by Borussia Dortmund from Paris Saint-Germain in 2017, Zagadou made 17 appearances and scored twice in the 2018/19 Bundesliga. He has represented France at every youth level from the U-16s.

Eyes will also be on Diego Lainez, a midfielder with Mexico. He’s only 18 years old, but the gifted attacking midfielder has already won four caps for Mexico’s senior team.

Lainez joined Spain’s Real Betis in January 2019 and made 16 appearances for the club this past season. He played every minute of Mexico’s four matches at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in India in 2017. He is figured to be the key man in Mexico’s attack at Poland 2019.

Lee Kangin, a midfielder with Korea Republic is also in the frame. Valencia swooped in for Lee early, as the Incheon-born attacking midfielder joined the Spanish side’s youth set-up in 2011. His maturation at the club culminated with his senior debut in January 2019. For country, Lee received his first senior call-up in March 2019.

Moises Ramirez, the Ecuadorian goalkeeper is also in focus. He was in goal when Ecuador won their first ever South American U-20 Championship in 2019. He kept five clean sheets in the tournament, which included a 298-minute streak without conceding to close it out. According to head coach Jorge Celico, “He may become of one the greatest in Ecuador’s history.”

Saudi Arabia’s midfielder, Turki Al-Ammar is another player to watch out for. He was recognised as player of the tournament at the AFC U-19 Asia Cup and earned similar acclaim competing for Al Shabab in the Saudi top flight this past season. Expect him to be the catalyst for Saudi Arabia’s attack in Poland.

Last but not the least is Erling Haland of Norway. The 6ft 3ins (1.91m) 18-year-old powered his country through the UEFA U-19 European Championship qualifiers, netting a hat-trick against Scotland to help Norway top their group and eventually become the final qualifiers from Europe for Poland 2019. He recently completed a moved to Red Bull Salzburg.

Welbeck Back Amidst Europa Cup Final

Chelsea will not like this as Arsenal have received a piece of good news as forward, who has scored two goals against the Blues, may be available to play in the Europa League final in Baku.

Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck is winning his race to be fit for Wednesday’s Europa League final. The forward has not played since suffering a horrific broken ankle in November, but Welbeck now looks certain to be fit to face Chelsea in Baku next week. He is likely to be named on the bench for the all-English final.

It would be Welbeck’s final game for Arsenal, with the 28-year-old former Manchester United man leaving at the end of this season when his contract expires. The English forward has scored 32 times in 126 Arsenal appearances since joining from Old Trafford for £18million in 2014.

Welbeck is understood to have stepped up his recovery in Thursday’s behind-closed-doors game against Austrian side LASK Linz. The game was set up by Arsenal chiefs as a final warm-up game before they head out to Baku on Saturday.

It was gathered that Arsenal asked Linz to keep details of Thursday’s training-ground friendly secret, so as not to give Chelsea any insight into their preparations. The game included various tactical drills as instructed by Gunners boss Unai Emery, which allowed the players to fine-tune their strategy ahead of facing Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are unlikely to display any messages in solidarity with absent Armenian midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan in next week’s final. Mkhitaryan decided against travelling to Azerbaijan due to safety fears over political tensions between the host nation and the player’s homeland. It is understood players have privately discussed the possibility of sending a message to their team-mate, potentially through a pre-match or post-match T-shirt.

However, it is understood the club feel such a move would be too inflammatory, particularly in a stadium which will be largely filled by Azerbaijanis — and could also leave them facing UEFA sanctions.
