Wright: Salah have a great chance to win Ballon d'Or

Arsenal legend Ian Wright reveals that Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah have a chance to win the Ballon d'Or ahead of Real Madrid forward, Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona talisman Lionel Messi.

The 25-year-old Egypt international scored his 43rd goal of an outstanding season soon after scoring a brace in Reds 5-2 victory over Roma at Anfield on Tuesday night to gives the Premier League outfit a superb chance of reaching a first Champions League final in 11 years.

Salah has now notched 10 goals to become the highest scoring African player in a single Champions League season.

When asked if former Chelsea winger could end Ronaldo and Messi dominance since 2008, Wright told SkySports Debate.

"Salah is in that conversation, of course

he is. With the World Cup coming in, the form he is you'd like to think he'll keep that for the World Cup.

"Obviously depending on what Liverpool do in the Champions League, if they do go on and win it, then you have to say when you look at Cristiano Ronaldo, he's saved much of his best work for the Champions League.

"He's [Ronaldo] won the Ballon d'Or a couple of times, and not just for those reasons but if Mo Salah keeps on doing what he's doing, he's not only in the conversation, he's got a very good chance of winning it."

Salah become the second African to win PFA Player of the year after banged in 31 goals in 33 league matches this campaign, could become the highest ever goalscorer in a single Premier League season if he finds the back of the net against Stoke City on Saturday.
