The National Chairman of the National Conscience Party (NCP), Dr. Yunusa Tanko, has declared his intention to run for the 2019 presidency.
He also promised to deliver a 10-point agenda that would alleviate poverty in the country, if he becomes president.
Speaking during his declaration for the office of the President of Federal Republic of Nigeria in Lagos yesterday, Tanko said: “Nigerians, especially the youths have the key to turn things around in the country and therefore, should use their voting power to vote out bad, non-performing and incapable leaders out of the system.”
Tanko said the 10-point agenda of NCP, which included employment, food, health, housing, education, water, electricity, transportation and telecommunication, “will not only add value to our egalitarianism but also emphasise the missing human capital development that have long eroded us as a people.”
He also urged all those who were interested in running for 2019 presidency on the platform of NCP to declare their intention, noting that the party would provide a level playground for all aspirants during the its presidential primary.
