Arsene Wenger is hopeful the ongoing political tensions between the United Kingdom and Russia will not affect tomorrow's Europa League clash against Ahmed Musa’s CSKA Moscow.
It is a game that will see Musa return to England after leaving Leicester on loan in January, and it will happen on the back of diplomatic unrest between the two nations, heightening fears of potential trouble.
To ease concerns of violence off the pitch, the Russian club are due to bring around 500 fans with them to London - a number that should be relatively routine to police.
And Wenger is hopeful the problems will not lead to flash points tomorrow night.
“Honestly, nobody knows really what's going on and it looks more to be diplomatic relations between England and Russia at the moment are a bit complicated,” he said.
“I just hope it won't affect the both ties and that it will not affect the supporters. Nor for the Russian people who come over here and not for English people who want to travel there.”
