Manchester City remain one of the best team in England, despite the 3-0 defeat against Liverpool in the Champions League on Wednesday, it takes nothing away from the Etihad outfit from being the best in the country and one of the best in European stage.
No doubt The Cityzens were outplayed by Jurgen Klopp’s men in the Champions League quarter-finals at the Anfield and put their semi-final qualification in doubt after suffering 3-0 against the Liverpool.
Liverpool is the only team that has dispensed such punishment to the Premier League Champion elect in the English top flight this season and it is has a result that Klopp knows how to handle Pep Guardiola’s tactics.
More so, Klopp had a better head to head against Guardiola and the German was able to add to his personal tally against the former Bayern Munich coach.
Klopp and Guardiola have met on 13 occasions including their spells in the German League with Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich respective.
Klopp has won on seven occasions drew 1 and Guardiola has won on five occasions.
Despite Klopp’s brilliant head to head record Guardiola’s team remain the best in England this season and they are primed to clinch the League title this season.
Manchester City is just a win away to clinch the Premier League title this season and with a victory over Manchester United on Saturday the title is gone.
Manchester City had an excellent season and they are 16 points clear of the second-placed Manchester United with seven games to go, the Etihad outfit can experiment with the Manchester derby game and still clinch the League title against their next opponent in the Premier League.
Manchester City might field a second string team against Manchester United and this would be an opportunity for the Old Trafford outfit to reduce the gap between the 16-point margin on top of the table to 13 points in a bid to build up their confidence level for the remaining games of the season.
Manchester City will employ ‘heavy metal approach’ against Liverpool in a bid to pull a comeback and Guardiola needs all his men to be fully fit for the course in front of their fans, come the return leg of the Champions League quarter-final.
This experiment can only be done by a team that has a large margin over the rest on top of the table, resting the club’s regulars against a major rival and regardless of the outcome, still remain in the driving seat to clinch the title is not a child’s play, Manchester City remain a force to respect this season.
