The home-based Super Eagles of Nigeriawill play host to Spanish La Liga club, Atletico Madrid, at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, Cross River State on May 22.
The game, tagged GOtv Max Cup, is being put together by MultiChoice Nigeria, and was announced at a press conference held at MultiChoice office in Victoria Island, Lagos on Thursday.
It will be Atletico’s first time of coming to Nigeria.
NFF boss, Amaju Pinnick was present at the conference, as well as, LaLiga delegate Javier Del Rio; General Manager, Sales and Marketing, MultiChoice Nigeria Martin Mabutho, among others.
“We are delighted to bring one of the three biggest clubs from LaLiga to Nigeria in what we believe will be a historic visit,” Mabutho said.
“As you all know Atlético Madrid is one of the top clubs in LaLiga. GOtv customers, and indeed football fans in Nigeria, will have the rare opportunity of watching the stars play the Super Eagles right here on Nigerian soil.
Atletico are playing in the Europa League final against Marseille in Lyon on May 16, and will come to play the Eagles six days after.
The Uyo game will be aired live on Supersport select 4 on Gotv Max.
