Super Eagles grateful for fans’ support, criticisms, resume training for Argentina clash

The Super Eagles have expressed gratitude for the support and criticisms they received from fans and well-meaning Nigerians in the course of their 2018 FIFA World Cup competition in Russia.

The team bagged their first win in the competition against Iceland on Friday, with Leicester City forward Ahmed Musa netting twice in the second half.

The win saw the team move from last to second position in Group D with three points, three adrift of leaders Croatia.

“We thank you for your support, positive and constructive criticisms. Your responses played major role in our return to winning ways,” the Super Eagles tweeted on Saturday, adding that “now, the real hard work begins.

“We’re back on the pitch at 4.45 p.m. for an open training session today.

The team also tweeted that the Eagles would resume training on Saturday at their Essentuki camp base after Friday’s morale boosting 2-0 win against Iceland at the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup.

“The session will start at 4.45 p.m. local time and will be open to fans and the media,” the team added.

The Super Eagles will face two-time winners Argentina in their final group game on Tuesday at the Krestovsky Stadium, St. Petersburg in Russia.
