Pep Guardiola has revealed that long-serving midfielder Yaya Toure is to leave Manchester City at the end of the campaign.
The 34-year-old has spent the past eight years at the Etihad Stadium will make his final appearance against Brighton on Wednesday.
Toure has found first-team opportunities limited this campaign, however, making just 16 appearances, with four of those coming in the Carabao Cup.
Speaking to reporters ahead of Sunday's meeting with Huddersfield Town, Guardiola confirmed recent reports that the Ivory Coast international is to bow out this summer once his contract expires.
"Yaya came here at the start of the journey," he said. "Where we are now is because of what he has done. He was a key player for Roberto Mancini and Manuel Pellegrini."
"The Brighton game we will give him what he deserves, one of the most beautiful farewells a player can receive.
"All the game will we be focused on winning for Yaya, we are going to try to do it for him."
Toure has made 229 Premier League appearances in his eight seasons at Etihad Stadium where he won three league titles, an FA Cup, and two League Cups in his time at the club.
