Mark Kosicke agent to Bayern Munich Defender Mats Hummels’ , flew down to London and held talks with Chelsea as well as Tottenham Hotspur, Mats Hummels joined Bayern Munich from Borussia Dortmund in a deal worth 38 million euros in July 2016. Since then, the Germany international has made 100 appearances for the German giants. Since his move to Bayern, the Germany defender has won the Bundesliga title on 2 occasions and the Super cup three times. However, as of late, the 30-year-old has fallen down the pecking order and is currently the third choice center back after Jerome Boateng and Niklas Sule.
Hummels has appeared in 15 games across all competitions for Bayern Munich this season, and a lot of them have been from the bench. Hummels is apparently unhappy at the club and wants away. However, he does have two more seasons as his contract expires only in June 2021. And Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge insists that the center back is going nowhere. He said.

“We had a conversation with Mats a few days ago and he will play for Bayern Munich in the second half of the season,”Bayern’s sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic also admitted that they had spoken to Hummels about his current situation. ‘We talked to Mats, it was a good conversation,’ he said.
Mats feel very well in Munich, and if a player does not always play, it is clear that there are discussions. ‘Mats wanted to talk to us. We explained our point of view to him and he explained his point of view. ‘I think that we came to a common denominator.’
Both, Chelsea as well as Tottenham have had some defensive issues this season. Chelsea have let in 14 goals in 17 games while Tottenham have conceded 16 times in 17 games. Hence, a move for the German makes complete sense for both the clubs. Hummels is a world-class defender who has proven his worth time and again for his club as well as his national team. His departure will be a big loss to Bayern, who is struggling at the moment, and a big gain for the side he eventually does end up joining.
