Super Eagles forward injured for six weeks

Super Eagles wide man Moses Simonhas been ruled out of action for a period of six weeks after sustaining an injury while playing for his club side KAA Gent.

Simon who is referred to as 'Daddy' joins fellow Nigerian International Henry Onyekuru among players currently sidelined with injury.

The 22-year-old sustained a ligament injury in the game against,  German second division side Nuremberg.

World Cup hope still intact

Moses who plays for Gent of Belgium will miss up to six league matches but should recuperate in time for the Super Eagles friendly games in March.

A statement on KAA Gent website said “Studies now show that the ligaments of his (Simon) ankle are hit, he will be out of four to six weeks. Simon will miss some games and more vital is the top of the billed clash with Club Brugge,”

The pacey forward was a key component of Gernot Rohr's squad in the World Cup qualification matches, and he will be hopeful of place at the FIFA World Cup.

Before his injury, Simon had scored five goals in 18 Jupiler Pro League games this season for Gent.

The forward has been at Gent since his move from AS Trencin in 2015.
