Dahood: The Spirit Behind Talent

Spirit behind Talent discovery  by
Salmi Babatunde Dauda
WHAT IS TALENT?
Talent is God's gift I.e free gift of nature, giving to every individual on earth. No matter who you are, where you live, where you have been, or what you do, you must have at least one particular thing, you love doing and you are doing it well.
Most people discover their talent at early stage of their life but the problem about this discovered talent is the individual not yet discover die to the individual reaction toward this talent discovered.
SUPREMACY OF DISCOVERED TALENT
People who got talent about a particular act, find it more easier to execute and are better at it than those that learn about such act. This is because, they can do it in different ways and still arrive or result in what they really intended it to be.
One more thing about those that got the talent is that, you will be impressed by their actions and the way they execute it and you will feel like "wow! How did he/she did that?" You will feel surprise because it look amazing and mostly look impossible in a normal sense.
Those that take much of their time to be good or practice to so such act will also impress you too but you will surely can tell who got the talent between them. The differences will always be there to differentiate them.
Talent is priceless as it has no price tag. You can't buy talent but you can pay for it ( you can never buy talent from anybody, but paying those talented people to display what they got is very possible). It is a free gift if nature which can be inherented from parent. You are born with it and it will surely be there for you whenever you want to use it.
Talent work with the brain as it  deals with your way of thinking, your brain quickly react to any action you want to carry out related to the talent you are blessed with. That's what make it more easier and most time accurately to carry out those activities.
As an engineer, you may be talented in the field of survey even without learning it .

HOW DO WE KNOW WHICH TALENT WE HAVE GOTTEN?
This is very simple and complex, but we will try as much as possible to let you know the fact that you need to hold about the discovered talent.
You know know what you love doing and you are happy or get excited when doing it I.e what you do most time and you never regret taking those actions or doing it.
Maybe you love singing and it is not just because you love listening to peoples songs or you like a particular artist. This has to do with singing your own song in a way that you find easier and meaningful to yourself. You get the best out of yourself and the listeners tell if it is good or not good. You just have to brand it to your own taste. If it is football, entertainment, social activities, technology, and many others, their should be a style of which you love and find more easier to execute. After which you know this, then , you have to work on it.
Sometimes you find out that you make people laugh and smile when you speak or give speech, that means you are onto comedy line. Any which way you find yourself, you should know that's the talent you are blessed with.
As an engineer, you may be talented in footballing, Don't quit.

WHY ARE SOME TALENTED PEOPLE NOT YET DISCOVER?
This is a very serious question that needed to be treated with care and understanding. Whereas it should be seen from individual perspective view.
In thus article, we will discuss about five (5) factors that can affect the discovery of talented people in our environment. They are mention below
1. Discovery of oneself
2. Environment
3. Support
4. Opportunity
5. Sponsorship

Discovery Of oneself
This is the most important factor that give birth to other factors and if this is not discovered, others are not to be talk about or mention.
If the individual has not discover that talent he or she has gotten, it will affect the discovery of such talented person. The first and most essential part of getting discovered is discovering of oneself. If you could not or have not discovered yourself, it is not possible and will not be easy for people to know what talent you have gotten. You need to know yourself and most especially  broadcast that talent you have gotten before people can know about what you have gotten to deliver to the people around you. Nobody will discover you unless you discover yourself and it is very important to discover oneself.

Environment
Environment is another factor that affect talent discovery of a relented person in our community. If you live in a local area or uncivilized environment, the percentage of getting discovered around the world is very low to this living in the city with more population of people .
If you can display what talent you have gotten to only the people in your vicinity, that means your talent is going no where.
Let take Nigeria for example, the only place where you can be more successful with any talent you must have gotten is Lagos State. There , you have the riches and the poor and also the average people of different grades. Most of the celebrities of nowadays live in Lagos State. Some discovered there talent out side Lagos but still find a way to Lagos state so that they can make more people know about the talent they have gotten. The internet has help most of the talented people to be discover easily without walking here and there. Though, most people are now with phones but the discovery is only those on the internet. Technology has some flaws as well where some of the videos we watch may have been edited before posting online there will be requirement for see this talented person to display it in the presence of all.

SUPPORT
This is another factor that needed to be accomplish before you can be discovered. You may have discover yourself, stay in a good environment but if you have no support from the people around you, you are going no where. There is a saying and I quote " Charity begin at home". If your own people didn't support your movement, it won't be as easy as that to be discover.
For example, you have got the talent of technology, and you have the knowledge of building an aeroplane, if you don't have the support from people to get all the materials needed , then you can't execute the project. It will only be known to you. There won't be chance to showcase your talent. Or you are a footballer that is very good in playing but you could not go to the field to display your talent , the talent will be in you but not for the people that needed it.

Opportunity
"Once Opportunity is lost, it can never be regain." If you got any talent and you couldn't attend any occasions, seminar, programmes or shows that needed you to showcase you talent, you have only gotten the talent but not use on what it suppose to be use for. A singer need to go to party to perform on the stage of the party, footballer need to play on the football pitch to be discovered, Dancers need to dance at different occasions to be discovered, technologist need to have attended many shows where the talent are needed to be discovered.
Opportunity play a very important role in the life of any talented person, in such a way that it make you more famous than before.
Opportunity shouldn't be misuse, or misinterpreted because you never can tell who is watching you at that particular time and if it will ever happen again.

Sponsorship
Many talented people has gotten all the factors mentioned above but still lack the aspect of sponsorship.
A sonsorer may take the responsibility of the talented person in other to motivate him or her to do more.

Conclusion and motivation
If you have not discovered yourself, it is never too late, start thinking about what you love doing and you do to the best satisfactory of your choice. If it is singing, motivational speaker, career talk, footballer, table tenni, boxing etc. You should try to work on it. Don't relent or step aside because of any difficulties you must have encountered.

Why Kwara State Government Shutdown ASA Investments Limited.

Kwara to build New Secretariat Complex in 2020
•As Govt reclaims land for civil service clinic

Ownership of the land bordering the Civil Service Clinic in Ilorin has officially reverted to Kwara State Government, a statement said on Friday, adding that a new secretariat complex will now be erected on the land next year.

Chief Press Secretary to the Governor Rafiu Ajakaye said in the statement that the land was originally meant for Government Secretariat and parking space of the Civil Service Clinic but was unlawfully allocated to a private firm Asa Investments Limited without any record of payment to the state government.

No certificate of occupancy was ever issued in favour of the firm, the statement added.

Government itself had bought the land to house the civil service clinic, its parking space, and a secretariat.

The statement said the government has now made provisions for the secretariat in the 2020 budget, although its construction will spill over to 2021.

“Hundreds of civil servants still operate from rented apartments at a huge cost to the government. The new secretariat, once completed in 2021, will definitely go a long way to end this unhealthy trend as well as provide a more conducive and decent working environment for government workers,” the statement added.

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has signed a constitutional instrument withdrawing the allocation of plots of land 1, 3 and 5 to the firm, asserting that the said land was unlawfully appropriated contrary to the purpose for which it was meant.

The Governor’s decision followed a resolution of the State House of Assembly urging him to reclaim the land because it was arbitrarily taken over in the 1990s without any evidence of payment by the Asa Investment Limited, even though the land was meant for public use.

The Governor noted in the revocation order that the land was originally meant for the construction of another phase of the Kwara State Civil Service Secretariat and a parking space for both the civil service clinic and the Secretariat.

The revocation order read: “In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 5 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) 1999 and Section 1 and 28 of the Land Use Act Cap. L.5 of 2004 and all other powers enabling me in that behalf, I, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Governor of Kwara State of Nigeria, give the following notice:

“The Notice may be cited as the Land Use (Revocation of Right of Occupancy and withdrawal of allocation) Notice , 2019.

“Allocation of plots of land 1, 3 and 5 TPS/MISC 129 to Asa Investment (Nig) Ltd. which is meant for the Kwara State Secretariat. The land, specifically and more described in survey No. KwSH 927 and Land/G1071 situated and lying beside Civil Service Clinic along Ilofa Road Ilorin, Kwara State, is hereby revoked and withdrawn for overriding public interest for use of the purpose it is originally meant for:

“The construction of Kwara State Secretariat; parking space for civil service clinic and the Kwara State Secretariat and annex to the Civil Service when upgraded to a hospital.

“That the plots allocated are hereby declared void. Notice is therefore given to you, Asa Investments Nigeria Limited, that the plots of land 1,3 and 5 TPS/MISC 129 allocated to you and any title on the land whatsoever are hereby revoked and the allocation is withdrawn for overriding public interest.”

Why Kwara State Government Denied Starboy Wizkid

Kwara Govt not behind WhizKid concert — AbdulRazaq
• Says infrastructure, enterprise, innovation key to devt

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Thursday denied that the government was behind the popular musical concert that featured pop star WhizKid in Ilorin, adding however that the event was a welcome development and could be a springboard to promote entertainment and get local talents hooked to other talents from outside the state.

He laughed off claims that the administration spent N200m to organise an end of the year party, saying those behind the claims were the people who brought the state to its knees and thought everyone was like them.

“The WhizKid concert was not sponsored or funded by the state government. It was purely a private sector initiative,” the Governor said in his remarks at the public presentation of a pictorial compendium of the appalling state of infrastructures and social amenities across every sector in Kwara.

“We however would continue to support such enterprising initiatives so that Kwara can better tap into the potentials in the entertainment and creative industry. Ours is to provide the enabling environment for such initiatives. Those who said we spent N50m to bring WhizKid also said we spent N200m on the end of the year party. They also said I bought bulletproof cars. These are laughable claims.

“Their strategy is to say that we are like them and tar us with the same brush. We are not. We are prudent with public resources. As at today, I still drive my personal cars as official cars. I bought them before I was sworn in. Although the law allows me to buy such vehicles, it is not a priority for me. We need to fix our state first.”

Stressing the need to grow the entertainment industry and empower talented youths, AbdulRazaq said he requested a meeting with WhizKid in his house yesterday where he sought a partnership to empower local talents especially the Kwara Idol and other programmes that have grown the creative industry.

The event, which was attended by House of Assembly Speaker Yakubu Danladi Salihu, cabinet members, civil society organisations, scholars and community leaders, was organised by Kwara Development Trackers (KDT), a nonprofit platform of apolitical Kwarans who are driven by the need to urgently fix the huge infrastructure deficits in the state as captured in the compendium.

AbdulRazaq said the compendium was a challenge for him to deliver more to the people, noting that the rot he met on the ground has forced the administration to rethink his campaign manifesto in line with the current realities.

The Governor said his strategy for a better Kwara included putting in place the necessary infrastructure to attract investment, such as massive rehabilitation of schools and health centres, engaging and training the necessary manpower, and making the state a hub for innovation and enterprise.

KDT Convener Barrister Muritala Sambo said the compendium was put together to point up the infrastructural needs of the state.

“This is done with to provide the new government and the people of Kwara State with an encyclopaedic information of people’s needs and the state of development across the state,” he added, warning that the effort was not to rubbish anyone but to set the record straight and challenge the new government.

Ahmad Moyosore, who represented Professor AbdulRasheed Na’Allah as the guest speaker, said fixing the state requires the collaboration of all stakeholders like the government, civil society organisations, development partners, and philanthropists.

FALANA REPLIES GARBA SHEHU

RE: STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE

The third term agenda for President Muhammadu Buhari kicked off on September 21,  2019  under the auspices of "Movement For the Approval Of Buhari Third Term." The members of the group who launched the campaign in Abuja were not harrassed  by the Police or the State Security Service. The Presidency did not deem it fit to disown or dissociate itself from  the campaign.

However, following the popular rejection of the campaign the Presidency issued a statement on October 2, 2019 to "correct internet-based gossip and un-informed media commentary regarding presidential term limits, given credence by so-called support groups, staging street demonstrations asking President Muhammadu Buhari to do a third term." In rejecting  the pressure of the "so called support groups", President Buhari   stated last month that
But shortly after the official denial of the thrd term agenda, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Charles Enya filed suit no. FHC/AI/CS/90/19 at  the Federal High Court in Abakiliki praying for the amendment of section 137(1) (b) and 182 (1) (b) of the Nigerian Constitution to allow for a third term for the President and the state Governors. In succumbing to public pressure to drop the suit Mr. Enya announced in court that he had decided to discontinue the matter to allow for "further consultations". The APC which had threatened to sanction Mr. Enya for filing the suit has since maintained sealed lips! It is pertinent to recall that after the dismissal of Mr. Enya's suit, a bill for a 6-year single term of office for the President and the 36 state governors was sponsored by a member of the APC in the House of Representatives. In order not to promote the third term agenda through the back door the bill was unanimously rejected by the House members.

Notwithstanding the official denial of the third term agenda the Buhari regime has since intensified its campaign for the emasculation of the opposition and constriction of the democratic space. This has been manifested in the subversion of the rule of law through disobedience of court orders, sponsoring of anti media bills and reckless arrest, detention  and prosecution of the perceived enemies of the federal government. Peaceful meetings and rallies against unpopular policies of the government are violently suppressed while crowds are rented to attack groups and citizens who challenge  authoritarian rule in the land. Yesterday, armed thugs unleashed violence on peaceful protesters at Abuja with the connivanve of a detachment of the Nigeria Police Force. One of the leaders of the protesters, Mr. Deji Adeyanju who was severely injured by the thugs has been hospitalised. Up till now, no arrest has been made by the Police.

Since this is the route that has been followed  to pave way for the third term agenda of incumbent Presidents in Guinea, Togo and Cote d'Ivoire, I was compelled to urge Nigerians not to dismiss the campaign of the "so-called support groups, staging street demonstrations asking President Muhammadu Buhari to do a third term." The Presidency has decided to attack me for challenging the support groups and APC leaders  that are behind the third term campaign. Even though the campaigners are well known  to the security agencies they have not being attacked by the Presidency.

However, for filing suits in the courts to challenge official  impunity I have been accused of engaging in judicial blackmail by sponsored agents of the State. By now, I expect the Presidency to have realised that I have been as constant as the northern star in the defence of human rights, democracy and rule of law. In 1992, my colleagues and I fought the "hidden agenda" for the tenure extension of military President Ibrahim Babangida. We were charged with treasonable felony. The case was however struck out in our favour.

We fought the plan of the late General Sani Abacha to metamorphose from a military dictator to a civilian President through the manipulation of a discredited political transition programme. Some of us were detained for 10 months without  trial. In 2006, I was also involved in the campaign against the third term agenda of  President Olusegun Obasanjo. Like now, I was accused of spreading false rumours!

Finally, in denying the third term agenda President Buhari said that he "can afford to be reckless". Since we are not a conquered people we are not going to allow the President to be reckless in the exercise of his powers in so far as as they are limited by the Constitution!

Dahood-The best of your kind

By
Salami Babatunde Dauda
The best of your kind are not always illuminated (Not what you can see easily or in a flashy light)
They are not what you can see always.
Lady Theresa said and I quote " you can't do what I can do, neither can I do what you can do, but togetherness, we can achieve greater things"
Many people fall in the victim of finding the best of their kind but later realize that no two persons are created with the same attitude, affection, behaviour, character and many more. You can never see anyone of your type but there is tendency to meet people who will have some of the qualities you have but they can't have all of your qualities.
Everybody has their bad and good behavior, everybody has positivities and negativities, everybody has prone and cons, and that's why no one is perfect except our creator (Almighty God).
Check those around you today, the ones you love most will also have some attitudes you don't tolerate or like about them.
Check the ones you dislike, they will have some attitudes you love about them too.
We always said , we don't like Satan, but we obey Satan than God.
He (Satan) asked God for power to control human in his capacity, we all want that  too but it may not be in that way. Our Kings, presidents, Governors, Prime ministers, Military Rulers etc all want this power too and even most especially you.
It is very clear that you can't see anyone of your type , you just have to play along, you just have to pretend as if nothing went wrong. We need to make  more friends not more enemies.
Lady Theresa said " The world if full of good people, if you cannot find one, be one"
We don't need to keep searching for the good people around us, let it begin with us and with time, it will circulate around the world. We will see good people of our kind but not of all qualities we have. Let come together and make things work out.
People changes every second, every minute, every hour, every day, every week, every month, and every year. But don't let your good doing change, people will talk trashes against you, people will blackmail you, they will backbite you, keep your head up and walk towards grateness because that's where you belong. Believe in yourself because you will succeed one day .
No one has the same qualities as you
Be optimistic not pessimistic
