Senator representing Rivers South-East Senatorial District, Magnus Abe has denied resigning from the All Progressives Congress, APC.

There were reports that Abe had reached a compromise with the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike to dump the ruling party for the People’s Democratic Party.

Abe had been accused several times of hobnobbing with the Governor of Rivers state because of the emergence of Arch. Tonye Cole as the flag bearer of the APC for the Governorship election in Rivers state.

But Abe in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Parry Saroh Benson on Saturday described the report as unfounded. He said, “It is a pedestrian move to derail the conversation about the preferred choice of the Senator as the Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Rivers State.

“The attention of Senator Magnus Abe media office has been drawn to an unfounded report circulating on social media claiming that the distinguished Senator Magnus Abe has dumped the All Progressives Congress, APC for the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.

“We know that such calculated misinformation in the public domain is coming from the usual quarters to confuse Senator Abe’s supporters who have remained firm, resolute and insisted on justice, equity, and fair play in Rivers APC.

“I am the frontline choice of Rivers APC for 2019 elections that is why so many efforts, resources, and energy have been expended on a futile mission to obliterate that reality.

“This sponsored campaign of hate and calumny is part of that effort and like every pack of lies, it will collapse in the fullness of time. The recent report that I, Senator Magnus Abe has dumped the APC for the PDP is another of such endless and wicked campaign against me. I remain a member of the APC. I remain committed to the party and to President Muhammadu Buhari.

“I have been in politics long enough to know that a smear campaign is one of the tools you deploy when your case is weak, so from the intensity of the smear campaign discerning political watchers, I know that no real case can be made against me.

“How can I leave my father’s house and deny my inheritance. We built the house with our tears, our sweat, and our blood. We will stay in our father’s house and fight for justice.

“No stranger can chase me out of my home. Desperation leads to fake news. Ignore them and focus on the God of justice. Hold your peace and be still, for the God of justice will speak and every other voice shall be silent.

“Just as I have said severally, let me re-emphasized that, I bought a form for governor on the platform of APC in Rivers State and I am running for the office of Governor,” Senator Abe stated.

The Minister of Information and culture Alhaji Lai Mohammed has reacted to the recent video clip that resurfaced showing the alleged kidnapped leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra by the Nigerian Army praying in Israel.

According to the minister, “We Are Giving Israeli Government Days To Deport Nnamdi Kanu Back To Nigeria Or We Will Take A Harsh Action Against Them.

The leader of a pro-Biafran separatist group in Nigeria was missing, prompting speculation as to his whereabouts on the eve of his trial on treason charges.

Nnamdi Kanu, who heads the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) movement, has not been seen in public since troops were deployed to the southeastern city of Umuahia last year.

Kanu, who wants a separate state for the Igbo people who dominated the country’s southeast, has been on bail since April and gone missing, prompting speculation as to his whereabouts on the eve of his trial.

Nigeria Government officially declared IPOB a “terrorist organisation” in mid-September after violent clashes between the security forces and IPOB supporters. Members of the group were accused of attacking military checkpoints in Umuahia, which is the capital of Abia state.

Olusegun Obasanjo has prepared Atiku for the 2019 presidential election

Olusegun Obasanjo, former president, has claimed that all he did with his time as power was prepare Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Atiku Abubakar for the role of the biggest office in Nigeria at the upcoming 2019 election.

This much he revealed on sa programme titled, “The Talk,” which was aired on a YouTube Channel, “Voice of the People.”

He went on to openly endorsed the presidential candidacy of Atiku Abibakar and revealed that he had hoped that the former vice-president would’ve succeeded him as President in 2007 and went on to explain how he prepared and shaped him to become president.

“Atiku didn’t want to become even a Vice President (in 1999). He was elected as a governor,” he recalled. “My plan was that he would be given a lot of work to do domestically and Atiku even used to complain that I gave him too much work to do, which was intentional because I wanted him to get to know things.

“My second term was that having prepared him for domestic issues, I would want him to represent Nigeria for one year at the African Union, Economic Community of West African States and the United Nations for a year so that he would be fully prepared, but the first thing I found out was that his judgement was not right on many occasions.”

The former President, insists that Muhammadu Buhari led government has failed and stated that he won’t ever shy away from speaking up when things were going wrong.

He said there was the need for Nigerians, especially the youth, to elect leaders that could fit into a “digital 21st century post-modern era rather than electing analogue personalities.”

Also, Obasanjo claimed not to know Asiwaju Bola Tinubu current position at the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). The former President had been asked to identify the designations of certain political figures in the country.

He went on to identify Muhammadu Buhari and Prof. Yemi Osinbajo as the President and Vice President respectively, while he also identified Senator Bukola Saraki as the Senate President. And when asked to identify Tinubu, he said, “Oh, Bola? Bola is supposed to be the leader of the APC. I don’t know the position of his leadership as you and I are talking.”

The Spiritual Director, Adoration Ministry Enugu Nigeria, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka has said that while President Muhammadu Buhari is “change,” former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is “bureau de change.”

Mbaka described Atiku as bureau de change, according to him, because of the foreign currencies that allegedly exchanged hands at the National Convention of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, before the ex-VP emerged the party’s presidential candidate.

Mbaka however predicted that Atiku will defeat Buhari in 2019 but warned him not to emulate Buhari if he is elected the president.

The fiery cleric said this while addressing his congregation at the Adoration Ground.

“So let the will of God be done in Nigeria. It is like what I have been saying Buhari change or you will be changed”

Mbaka said that Buhari had all the human and material resources at his disposal to make the country better but rather chose to play ethnic, despotic politics.

“What will it take you; change the Chief of Staff, change B, change C, change this and change that; even if it will take 20 Igbo men or 20 Yoruba men to change Nigeria; take all of them. Look at what (Chukwuma) Soludo did in the Central Bank; he has assured Nigeria and the whole world that there is nothing like bank collapse again.

“An Igbo man did this, why can’t Buhari take Soludo for the economic revival and revamping of Nigeria’s economy? And you are busy talking about corruption, playing game with the lives of Nigerians from the issue of Fulani herdsmen to Boko Haram to Jos killings. You said somebody stole, what did he steal?

“Someday, they said the government has spent trillions of naira on social investment scheme and I want to know who are the people they were spending the money on; the Vice President said they are giving N10,000 to small scale businesses and I asked, is this how they will transform Nigeria? You give somebody N10,000 for business, what type of business will N10,000 start?

“Somebody will have billions and want to take the one belonging to the public while hunger will be killing his people. Look at the type of money they shared during the primaries to the extent that they brought Bureau de Change. They said Buhari is change, but Atiku is bureau de change. They were sharing the money in dollars and it was going out in millions of dollars in Nigeria where hunger is killing people; where you don’t have food to eat.

“If they spend such monies to get ticket, how do you think that when they get into power they will rule, of course, they will first recover the money they have spent but the worst is that the money was not being shared to the poor,” he lamented.

Speaking further, the prophet described the cost of APC Expression of Interest and Nomination forms as outrageous.

According to him, if the leadership of the party had conscience, they would not have collected N24 million from people to obtain the forms.

“There are some people that sold their land to pay for this form because of the promise they were made. I don’t think these politicians were thinking of heaven that is why they are ready to kill anybody that stands on their way,” he said.

Mbaka said that Atiku may not be able to solve the problems of Nigeria if he emerged victorious.

“If anybody is thinking that if Atiku becomes the President of Nigeria things will get better, ‘who born you’ because for this country to be good it is easier for a carmel to pass through the eye of a needle than this country to be good,” he said, urging that Nigerians must do their part to make Nigeria the nation of their dream.

The fiery preacher predicted defeat for the APC but said that there was still opportunity for change.

“There are no people that will develop this country that are not in Nigeria. We have people who will develop this nation; but our President left the same type of people who don’t have the same type of vision around him and everything they do is in your head.

“After you are removed, they will bring people that will flog you because you messed up the opportunities because you didn’t listen to the word of God. You didn’t listen to the man of God you have and you were disobeying him.

“The price of disobedience is disgrace,” he declared.

However United will strongly resist the Turin club’s attempts to prise the frontman away from Old Trafford.

Pereira has enjoyed increased game-time under Jose Mourinho this season..

Unless you've been living under a rock for the last three weeks, you've seen the infamous footage of Jose Mourinho and Paul Pogba from Manchester Unitedtraining.

After months upon months of speculation that the pair had fallen out, the emergence of the clip seemed to confirm that trouble was brewing at Old Trafford.

Pogba was seen skipping over to greet certain members of the United staff but - upon seeing Mourinho - his entire demeanour changed and a frosty exchange ensued.

Lip readers and journalists tried to decipher the situation in the days that followed and it was eventually concluded that Pogba's Instagram activity was behind it all.

The Frenchman had uploaded a video of him laughing at Old Trafford with Andreas Pereira and Luke Shaw just after the Red Devils were defeated by Derby County in the Carabao Cup.

So Pereira has confirmed the Instagram story, but the details about Mourinho's 'mood' and the reason the video was posted later remain a little shady.

Nevertheless, it's the most detailed account United fans have been given and the midfielder also opened up on his own opportunity at the 'Theatre of Dreams.'

"Mourinho gave me a chance, he said to me: 'I want you to stay here,'" he continued.

"It would be a shot on my own foot to badmouth the guy who gave me the first opportunity to play and is still giving it. ‘

"The relationship is good, it’s cool. I have a very good relationship with him, with the players and he also has a good relationship with the players."

Anthony Martial enjoyed a memorable afternoon at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon as his two goals helped Manchester United claim a 2-2 draw against Chelsea.

Ross Barkley’s late equaliser sparked furious scenes in the away dugout as a member of the Blues’ backroom staff appeared to goad Mourinho, forcing a furious reaction from the Portuguese.

However, it was his various interactions with Martial during the game which pleased several United fans.

After grabbing what appeared to be a winning goal in front of the Manchester United fans, Mourinho was obviously elated with his forward.

And then, after tremendous running and lots of hard work, the former Chelsea boss visibly pumped his fists and went onto the pitch to pat Martial on the back to congratulate him for his diligence.

Shortly afterwards, the Portuguese then had a huge cuddle with the 22-year-old as he was substituted with a beaming smile.

The duo have endured a somewhat rocky relationship in the past, with Mourinho openly criticising the France international for his poor performances.

The relationship between the pair appeared to hit rock bottom when, after leaving United’s pre-season tour to be with his pregnant wife, Martial was fined by the Red Devils boss.
